Our hearing is one of our most important senses, necessary for basic communication, speech and awareness.
what exactly is sound? And how do our ears actually work?
and If you can’t hear, can you “see” the sounds?
Sound is caused by something emitting energy in the form of a vibration. Areas of high and low pressure move outwards creating a form of longitudinal wave (a wave which vibrates in the direction of travel). The amplitude (volume) and frequency (pitch) of the sound wave depends on what the source is and the amount of energy supplied outwards.
The ear is an extremely clever organ, consisting of a collection of tiny bones, tubes and membranes (namely the ear drum) which process the sound and send it to the brain. The funnel-like shape of the ear is effective at collecting the sound wave and filtering it through the ear passage, where it causes vibrations of the ear drum. The signal is gradually converted into an electrical signal by the rest of the ear, and this is then sent to the brain.

Project – voice vocalizer

You need:
(1) 任何膠帶
(2) 12吋汽球 (網路上超貴。)
(3) 剪刀
(4) 油漆攪拌棒 或 長的尺
(5) 黏土
(6) 雷射筆
(7) 小鏡子 或 任何會反射的東西
(8) 桶狀的物品

步驟 (1) 汽球從照片上那個位置剪開

步驟 (2) 把剪開的氣球套到桶狀的物品上 (變成像鼓一樣) 然後很迅速的用膠帶把汽球固定好
* 汽球需要盡量平整

步驟 (3) (4)
把黏土揉成一顆球,固定到”油漆攪拌棒”的一端,然後先用雷射筆壓出一個痕跡。
然後把”油漆攪拌棒”跟步驟(2)固定在一起。

步驟 (5) (6)
把鏡子黏在 步驟(2) 的正中間。
把雷射筆固定好 (雷射打出來的位置必須要剛好在鏡子上)

實驗開始:打開雷射,對著桶子裡講話,利用聲波動力,造成汽球面的震動。

必須要在很暗的地方,雷射的效果才會明顯,可是我不知道怎樣才可以拍得清楚,所以大家就只能自己實驗啦!

(波動小→震動小→聲音輕)
(波動大→震動大→聲音重)
這兩年,因為姊姊帶助聽器,所以我們做了各種跟聲音有關的活動,我就不另外找照片了,我把我參考過的部落格貼給大家。

(3) 發光的木琴 * 要記得用短的螢光棒喔!
(4) 聲音的震動 * 參考影片 這個女生聽不見,但是她光腳站在舞台上,學會用身體來感受樂器波頻震動,她用身體去”聽到”音樂。
(5) 杯子電話
共鳴箱能放大音量,是因為兩個發音體若產生的頻率是相同的,彼此就會有共鳴現象。
所以如果直接把耳朵靠在門上,可以聽到聲音,可是如果加一個杯子(共鳴箱作用),聲音就會被放大。

兩個孩子在小小的時候,我帶她們做過”破鼓”實驗,也教會了孩子「為什麼不可以在耳朵邊大叫」;鼓破了,請小手手用膠帶修補好,再敲敲看,讓她們自己”聽到”修補過的鼓面,是不是聲音就不一樣了,或著是破損的嚴重點,是不是就修補不好了。
